After completing the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law in London from 1999 until 2000, where she gained a Very Competent grade, Rhian Kirby became a tenant at 30 Park Place in 2002, following completion of her pupillage (during which time she was awarded the Sir Thomas Moore Scholarship). Since then her area of expertise has always been in Family Law where her particular specialisation is in Children Act cases.
As a fluent Welsh speaker she regularly conducts cases in the medium of Welsh.

- Attempted strangulation/suffocation of baby
- Court of Appeal-finding of indecent assault following acquittal in criminal court. Inability to cross-examine children hampered defence
