Paul Lewis was educated at Pontypridd Boys' Grammar School before gaining an LL.B. at Leicester University, where he studied from 1976 to 1979. He then studied Bar Finals at the Inns of Court School of Law, London. After being called to the Bar, he undertook pupillage at 30 Park Place before becoming a tenant in 1983.
He practises exclusively in Criminal Law and his areas of specialisation within this field are serious fraud, homicide and sexual offences. He took Silk in 2001, and continues to practise from 30 Park Place as well as his London Chambers.
