After obtaining a classics degree at Jesus College, Oxford, Eugene Egan undertook the Common Professional Examination at City University, London, and thereafter the Bar Finals at the Inns of Court School of Law. At Lincoln’s Inn he was the holder of a Hardwicke Scholarship, a Thomas More Bursary and a C.P.E. Scholarship.
He specialises in criminal work and both prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court. He is a Grade 4 Crown Prosecutor. He has a wide range of experience in all aspects of criminal law and has been in trials embracing the following allegations: murder, manslaughter, the full range of sexual offences including rape, violent offences including attempted murder, offences of dishonesty including mortgage fraud (VHCC) and customs cases. He is the Criminal Bar Association representative for Cardiff.
